Raja Ampat Biodiversity Nature Resort: Immerse yourself in one of the last paradises on Earth! Discover dense rainforest, watch magnificent birds of paradise perform their mating dance, and go on impressive dives with majestic mantas! Have a unique experience you'll remember for a lifetime!
Location and Facilities: Raja Ampat Biodiversity Nature Resort is located at the famous Dampier Strait in the heart of Raja Ampat as part of the Coral Triangle. It sits perfectly nestled between green jungle and a long white sand beach on Gam Island. The Spanish owners have realized their dream here, building a small resort in harmony with the surrounding nature. Follow their enthusiasm and let yourself be inspired by jungle sounds, birdsong, and ocean waves; a wonderful way to start the day.
The 9 bungalows total are built with generous spacing between them to ensure a high degree of privacy. They're located directly on the beach, just steps from the clear ocean waters. The traditional Papuan building style is reflected in the use of various leaves and high-quality tropical wood for roofs and walls. An elevated roof construction allows for consistent air circulation inside the bungalows, eliminating the need for air conditioning.
Three room categories are available: Deluxe Cottage, Superior Cottage, and Raja Ampat Cottage, which differ in size and amenities. The 2 Raja Ampat Cottages (42 m²) can be interconnected for families or small groups. The 2 Superior Cottages are slightly more spacious (46 m²) with otherwise similar amenities, and the 5 Deluxe Cottages (55 m²)additionally feature hot water.
All bungalow cottages feature a semi-open bathroom, terrace and sun loungers, safe, desk, water dispenser, fan, mosquito net, and various seating options. Through a panoramic glass front, you'll also have breathtaking views of the beach and ocean. A dedicated pavilion at the end of the property is available for massage treatments.
A solar system provides 24-hour electricity to the entire resort. Free WiFi, though somewhat slow (and sometimes intermittent) due to the remote location, is available from 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM.
Occupancy: max. 4 persons
Restaurant: The semi-open restaurant is the heart of the resort. It's also beachfront with breathtaking views. Here, delicious Indonesian dishes are prepared by local chefs. Local products are used as much as possible, some even from the resort's own garden. Fresh fish is brought directly by local fishermen.
The kitchen uses neither MSG nor palm oil products. Pork, beef, and shrimp dishes are not served for ecological reasons. Dietary requirements such as gluten-free, vegan, or vegetarian meals are accommodated and available upon request.
A few steps from the restaurant is the beach bar, well-stocked with beer, wine, spirits, and soft drinks.
Diving: At the resort's own dive center, safety is just as important as enjoyment. The focus is especially on personal service: divers' wishes and experience are considered in daily planning. Diving is done in small groups with long dive times.
The 5 dive boats total are equipped with first aid kits and oxygen. Three boat dives per day are regularly offered, with an additional night or twilight dive also possible. Unguided house reef dives can be done anytime.
For those wanting to start their diving adventure in Raja Ampat or deepen their knowledge, PADI and SSI instructorsare available. All courses from discovery diving to Divemaster are offered.
Raja Ampat is famous for good reason and a dream destination for many divers: The archipelago lies in the middle of the famous Coral Triangle, considered the world's richest coral ecosystem. Here are over 1,300 species of reef fish and 600 species of hard corals, representing about 75% of all species worldwide.
What's great about the region is that it offers something for all diving levels: coral gardens without current, gently sloping sandy slopes, impressive walls, and wild drift dives. The underwater life is equally diverse: size-wise, everything from tiny pygmy seahorses to gigantic whale sharks is represented.
