Tomohon International Flower Festival (TIFF)

Known as ‘Kota Bunga’, the flower city, Tomohon is at the heart of the Indonesian flower industry. In 2008, the TIFF was initiated to strengthen the smallholder floral and trade businesses while promoting tourism in the region.
Initially celebrated every two years, this colourful festival has enjoyed such popularity that it has become an annual event since 2014. Its number of exhibitors is growing just as steadily as the influx of visitors so that the TIFF has established a permanent place in the festival calendar of the Indonesian Minister of Tourism as one of the ‘100 Wonderful Events Indonesia’.
If you visit the TIFF, you will find yourself in a sea of flowers. Numerous events with floral themes are offered during the festival period in the festively decorated city. Since the 3rd event, the TIFF has been held always in the second week of August.
Due to the pandemic, the festival was paused in 2020 and 2021.

Festival Highlights
The absolute festival highlight is the flower parade together with the Flower Fashion Carnival. The colorful parade, with changing imaginative floral decorations and designs on people and vehicles, is a true feast for the eye. The event’s climax is the coronation of the flower queen.
