Location and amenities:
Nestled between the main islands of Morotai in the north and Halmahera in the south is the small tropical island of Metita, where the Metita Beach & Dive Resort opened its doors in 2022. Set in the middle of a picturesque island world untouched by tourism and framed by an environment full of scenic attractions, the Metita offers the perfect starting point for real discovery tours above and below the water. The owner-managed resort is under German management and is the only resort on the otherwise uninhabited island. Pursuing high standards of quality, sustainability and service, the Metita is both cosy and elegant. In addition, the west-facing location allows you to enjoy the wonderful sunsets from the pool, the beach or directly from your own bungalow terrace.
With the completion of the first construction phase (two more are to follow), 6 spacious and well-equipped cottages have been created (4 Double Beach Cottages - 57 m2, 1 Twin Beach Cottage - 58 m2 and 1 Family Garden Cottage - 103 m2). The wooden bungalows are very stylishly furnished and each has a double king-size bed or two twin beds and air conditioning. They also offer a lounge, desk, minibar, walk-in wardrobe and music station. The open-air bathroom has a freshwater rain shower; the toilet is separate. In addition, each cottage has a spacious terrace with seating and a hammock. An appropriate distance between the individual bungalows ensures sufficient privacy. Far away from typical tourist routes, the resort makes a wonderful holiday home.

Restaurant and spa offer:
The culinary offer follows high standards and leaves hardly anything to be desired. Home-baked bread as well as fruit, vegetables and herbs from the resort's own kitchen garden contribute to this. In addition to culinary and scenic discovery tours, the Metita Beach & Dive Resort also offers a spa and wellness programme - as a contrast, so to speak. In a pretty garden pavilion, framed by a lovingly designed fish pond with a stream, the physically beneficial treatments can be enjoyed accordingly.
Diving & Surfing:
The Metita Beach & Dive Resort has a diving centre from where all diving and snorkelling excursions start. With the resort's own boat and a well-trained crew, you can go out on a maritime discovery tour. Your diving equipment will be taken care of after each trip. The cleaning and care of your special equipment, such as camera and diving lamp, etc., is your own responsibility.
Metita is surrounded by a fantastic, approx. 100 m long fringing reef, which offers you as a snorkeller enchanting coral gardens as well as a very colourful drop-off, in which reef sharks and sea turtles also make regular stops. You'll also get your money's worth as a diver, because not far from the resort is a well-known dive spot that a large family of blacktip reef sharks call home. Due to Morotai's WWII past, there are also a significant number of different wrecks to explore underwater. And during the winter months, around November to March, there are also some interesting surfing opportunities around Morotai. The 'ultimate wave' can be found just 45 minutes from the resort!
A very special highlight of this region is the 'Walking Shark', a curious shark species that uses its pectoral fins to 'walk' rather than swim, which was only discovered in 2013.

DIVING
- € 50,- per person/ dive: 1 - 5 Boat dives
- € 45,- per person: 6 -10 Boat dives
- € 40,- per person: ab 11 Boat dives
- € 60,- per person: Sunset/ boat dives
- € 50,- per person: Dive trip to Galela, Halmahera
- € 25,- per person/ snorkel session: 1 - 5 sessions from dive boat
- € 20,- per person/ snorkel session: as of 6 sessions from dive boat
- Boat charter and/ or private guide for diving or snorkeling as well as customised dive excursions per request.
The prices include the complete handling of the diving equipment by a very well trained crew, including washing at the dive centre. Guests are only responsible for their own personal special equipment, such as cameras and dive lights. Boat dives include guide, tanks, weights and food (excluding soft drinks) on board. Day trips include 3 dives and snacks (excluding soft drinks) on board or at a nearby beach. A maximum of 4 dives per day are possible (2 x morning, 1 x afternoon, 1 x night)
