Day 1

• Arrival at Sultan Babullah Airport in Ternate with reception by your personal guide and transfer to your hotel (approx. 60 min).
• Depending on your arrival time, you can enjoy a relaxing day/evening there or explore your surroundings before the adventure begins.
• Dinner at the hotel (not included).

Day 2

• Breakfast and pick-up by your personal guide who will accompany you throughout your trip.
• Today you will follow the path of the spices and explore the island of Ternate.
• On your journey you will immerse yourself in the island’s past, passing old fortifications and spice plantations with picturesque panoramic views and the Sultan’s Palace, the former centre of power that ruled even the most remote places of this vast archipelago.
• You will also visit the place in the centre of Ternate, where Alfred Russel Wallace wrote his famous treatise on the origin of species. Dive into the lively streets and markets of the island with its exotic fruits and spices.
• Continuing your journey around the island you will also visit the unspoilt places of Ternate such as lakes and lonely beaches. Don’t forget your swimwear! Lunch (not included) is taken during the tour

Day 3

• Your day starts with an early breakfast. Your guide will pick you up early at your hotel to catch the morning car ferry to Tidore.
• Your island tour starts in the north of Tidore and takes you to the historic capital of the island with the Sultan’s Palace and the strategically located fortifications facing the sea. Here you can enjoy wonderful views of the surroundings.
• During your island tour you will have the opportunity to get to know the local handicraft in a traditional blacksmith village (fee <<not included).
• On the slopes of Mount Kiematubu you will explore one of Tidore’s spice plantations, sniff exotic spices and enjoy wonderful views. About halfway up the mountain you will make a last stop in one of the traditional villages of Tidore before you head for Ternate. Back in Ternate you spend the rest of the day to your own devices.

Day 4

• After an early breakfast and pick up by your guide, you start your discovery tour to the west side of Halmahera, the largest island of the Moluccas.
• After crossing the Moluccan Sea, the journey takes you to the district of Jailolo, the fourth Sultanate of the Northern Moluccas, ‘Moloku Kie Raha’, the realm of the four mountains.
• After checking into your accommodation in the early afternoon, you will have the opportunity to explore either the attractions of the city or the snorkelling spots nearby.
• Breakfast in your accommodation
• Lunch in local restaurant on tour or packed lunch (not included)
• Dinner in local restaurant in the village (not included)

Day 5

• Today, after breakfast, you and your guide will venture further into the north west of the island and stop at a traditional Sahu village.
• Later you will exchange the car for a boat to explore West Halmahera’s wonderful island world full of fascinating rock formations.
• You will also have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the life of the inhabitants in one of the most remote villages of the island archipelago.
• Feel free to take the opportunity to swim or snorkel or just enjoy the beautiful scenery that surrounds you. Do not forget your swimming gear!

Day 6

• After breakfast you will return to Ternate, where you will arrive in the early afternoon.
• After checking in at your hotel, you can either immerse yourself in Ternate’s bustling street life again or simply enjoy the rest of the day at the pool – whichever you prefer.
• Breakfast at your accommodation
• Packed lunch or lunch in a local restaurant on the way (not included)
• Dinner at your hotel in Ternate (not included)

Day 7

• After a last early breakfast you will be transferred to Sultan Babullah airport or one of Ternate’s ports to start your journey home or to extend your adventure.
