Day 1: Arrival in Raja Ampat

  • Your local tour guide will be waiting for you at Dominique Edward Osok Airport in Sorong and will greet you with a warm 'Selamat Datang!' in the island kingdom of Raja Ampat, far in the east of Indonesia. Together with him you will go by car to the harbor and from there by ferry and speedboat to your resort hotel on the island of Yeben, the starting point of your Raja Ampat adventure trip. The boat trip from Sorong to Yeben Island takes about 3-4 hours, but you can look forward to an entertaining journey that offers plenty of photo opportunities.
  • You will reach your resort hotel, the Cove Eco Resort, in the afternoon. There you can check in at your leisure and enjoy the rest of the day.
  • Dinner is served at the resort (included).
  • Overnight stay at Cove Eco Resort, Yeben Island.

Day 2: Hidden Bay - Passage - Kabui

  • This morning you can have a relaxed breakfast (included), as departure is only at 9 a.m. today. Today we go to the well-known passage, a strait between the islands of Gam and Waigeo.
  • The boat trip takes you past paradisiacal islands and a pearl farm. Almost invisible to untrained eyes, the captain heads for the entrance to the passage.
  • The boat slowly glides through a narrow waterway, framed by steep limestone cliffs that rise out of the water and give the feeling of floating on a river. This surreal landscape will remain in your memory for a long time.
  • Between the mangroves you have the opportunity to snorkel in the passage before going to a lonely jetty where coffee and snacks await you.
  • You will then visit Hidden Bay, a small bay whose entrance is almost invisible. Here you can snorkel among colorful corals, small reef sharks and coral-covered rocky outcrops.
  • Lunch (included) will be served on a small beach nearby before you head back towards Yeben.
  • On the way to the resort there is a short detour to Pef, where you can admire fascinating handprints on rocks.
  • Return to the resort will be around 4 p.m.
  • After arriving at the resort, you will have some time for yourself before going to dinner.
  • Dinner at the resort hotel (included).

Day 3: Piaynemo mit Sternlagune, Fam Wall und Melissa’s Garden

  • After a relaxed breakfast, we take the boat at 8 a.m. to the Fam Islands, one of the most famous and beautiful places in Raja Ampat. The famous 'Mushroom Islands', turquoise lagoons with fantastic coral gardens, are waiting for you here.
After just 35 minutes you will reach Fam Wall, a beautiful rock face that is covered over with colorful soft corals and is perfect for diving and snorkeling.
  • During a short stop on a beach on a neighboring island you can enjoy the wonderful landscape and also observe curious lizards.
  • Afterwards we go to Melissa’s Garden, an extraordinary coral garden that extends over a large area. You can explore this extensively with a snorkel or dive.
  • The next stop is at the Piaynemo jetty, one of THE viewpoints in the region. Here you will first enjoy a well-deserved lunch (included) before climbing the steps to the Piaynemo viewpoint.
From above you have a brilliant view over the paradisiacal islands and small lagoons. One of these lagoons, the Star Lagoon, was named for its shape.
  • Depending on the weather and tides, we then go to a small lagoon, which is located in front of Piaynemo and is ideal for swimming and snorkeling. You have the opportunity to take more photos on a rocky outcrop before heading back towards the resort.
  • The return journey takes place around 4 p.m.
  • You can then end the day with a delicious dinner (included) at the resort.

Day 4: Pulau Sawingrai - Arborek Village

  • After a short breakfast, we set off at 5:30 a.m. today to observe endemic birds of paradise in the jungle of Sawingrai.
After an hour-long boat ride, a short hike through the jungle to the bird watching point awaits you. An early start is necessary as the birds of paradise can usually only be seen here between 7 and 8 a.m.
  • Afterwards you have the opportunity to refresh yourself in the sea and explore the colorful coral world along the jetty. There is also coffee and a small snack.
  • Next you will drive to the village of Arborek on the island of the same name, where you can chat with friendly locals. An impressive underwater world awaits you right in front of the small island, which you can discover while snorkeling or diving.
  • The return journey to the resort takes place at around 12 noon.
  • You have the rest of the day at leisure and can spend it comfortably on your bungalow terrace with a cool drink or elsewhere in your beautiful resort hotel.
    Dinner (included) there.

Day 5: Insel Yeben Kecil mit 'Yeben Batu' und 'Yeben Shallow'

  • The first day starts off comfortably. You can relax and enjoy your breakfast (included) at the resort before you are ready to leave for your half-day tour at 8 a.m.
  • After a short drive you will reach the neighboring island of Yeben Kecil - 'Klein Yeben' - where a white sandy beach, crystal clear water and a colorful coral world await you.
  • On the north side of the island you have plenty of time to explore the beautiful underwater world while snorkeling, swimming or just enjoying the great landscape.
  • The boat then continues to Yeben Batu, the 'Yeben Rock', a large boulder surrounded by a long white sandy beach, also called 'Yeben Shallow'. Whether on the white palm beach or in the shallow water, this paradisiacal place offers you a dream setting for perfect holiday photos.
  • Here you have the opportunity to snorkel around the island in peace and quiet, getting to know the colorful diversity of fish and turtles and marveling at the enchanting coral world.
  • At around 12 noon you will return to the resort in an equally relaxed manner, where a delicious lunch (included) awaits you.
  • You have the rest of the afternoon to explore the resort and its surroundings or simply relax.
    Dinner there (included)

Day trip to Wayag Islands

  • AToday it starts a little earlier. After a small breakfast (included), you will be ready to depart at 6 a.m. for Wayag, an archipelago with a surreal landscape that is considered a landmark of Raja Ampat.
  • The boat trip to the small, green limestone islands in the middle of the turquoise ocean takes about 2.5 hours.
During the journey you will glide through clear water and pass isolated islands, deserted beaches and lush mangrove forests.
  • From the distance you can already see the well-known Wayag Islands and the closer you get, the clearer the karst formations that rise steeply out of the water into the air become.
  • On this tour you will visit two different viewpoints, which can be reached after a somewhat challenging hike over rocks. But the difficult climb is worth it because the view from up here is simply breathtaking!
  • After this exertion, a refreshing swim in one of the blue lagoons awaits you.
  • Afterwards, you will be served a simple but delicious lunch (included) on a hidden beach and you will have the opportunity to take in the truly enchanting landscape before you start the return journey.

Adventure holidays in Indonesia: For those seeking more than just beaches

Do you think of Indonesia only in terms of white beaches and palm trees? Then it's time to dive deeper. An Indonesia round trip east of the Wallace Line shows you a completely different face of this diverse country. Of course, you'll find dream beaches – for example on Lombok, the Moluccas, or Raja Ampat. But that's just the beginning. Off the beaten path, our adventure & cultural tours in Indonesia await you with a world full of highlights, featuring cultural diversity, exciting encounters, and unique nature.

Individually planned or in small private groups on our sailing tours, you'll experience a visit to Indonesia that is more than just a vacation – a cultural journey through Indonesia that takes you to the origins of this earth, to villages and places where stories of gods are still told. Pure Indonesia adventure vacation!

On active tour through Indonesia: Experience nature up close

Indonesia east of the Wallace Line is a true paradise for active travelers. Here you can climb volcanoes, hike through tropical forests, observe wild endemic animal species, and experience the incredible diversity of nature up close. Instead of the well-known Bromo volcano on Java - which is located west of the Wallace Line - our adventure tours in Eastern Indonesia take you to lesser-known but all the more impressive volcanoes, for example on Halmahera, Sulawesi, or Sumbawa.

The geological dynamism continues underwater as well: While snorkeling and diving around the Moluccas, Sulawesi, Raja Ampat, and the Lesser Sunda Islands, you'll encounter fascinating biodiversity – corals, rare fish, and sunken lava fields create scenery like from another world. This biological diversity is unique on Earth and makes every tour a real adventure. The region east of the Wallace Line is also called the Coral Triangle and invites you to unique active tours in Indonesia.

Between temples and rainforest on an adventure trip in Indonesia

A trip to Eastern Indonesia is also an encounter with spirituality. To be completely honest: In this region, unlike Bali, you won't encounter temples very often. The worship of gods takes place in a different way in the local Eastern Indonesian daily life. In remote villages, you can experience firsthand how deeply rooted the local cultural identity is. On your cultural journey through Eastern Indonesia, you'll see that rituals and myths are still passed down orally here and find their visible expression particularly at events and festivals.

On an adventure trip through Indonesia's jungle, along active volcanoes, through protected national parks, or through remote villages, every visit becomes a step into another world. Whether rainforest, beach, or rice field – you'll explore places where time seems to have stood still and become part of an environment where humans and nature still live in harmony.

Your active holiday in Eastern Indonesia is already waiting

You're ready to explore more, experience more intensively, and truly immerse yourself? Then this active vacation in Indonesia is exactly right for you. From the first flight to the last hotel night, everything is planned so you can make the most of your time. With us, you can expect:

  • authentic encounters
  • unique natural spectacles
  • plenty of peace and time to relax
  • and always a touch of adventure.

Our cultural tours & adventure tours in Indonesia are for travelers who seek something special – away from mass tourism and often comfort too. Your trip is as individual as you are. And you won't just be impressed, but touched. And at the latest when you look back at the end, you'll know: Indonesia is somehow more than just a travel destination – it's a way of life that stays with you.
