Diving

- If you have previous diving experience, you can look forward to fantastic dives - including huge schools of fish, extraordinary coral gardens, manta rays, sharks and macro!
- Beginners can also start their diving adventure here and will be supervised by professional instructors in the resort's own 5-star PADI diving school. Spontaneous introductory dives (Discover Scuba Dive) are also possible.

Location and amenities:
Papua Paradise Eco Resort is located in the north-east of jungle-covered Birie Island, an uninhabited island in the centre of Raja Ampat, just north of the larger Batanta Island. The resort's unique geographical location allows for a relatively short drive from Sorong (about 2 hours) and easy access in all weather conditions.
The entire resort is built in traditional Papuan style using natural materials. The 10 Deluxe Bungalows (85 m²) and 16 Superior Bungalows (70 m²), are oriented towards western standards, stand on stilts and offer a fantastic view over the Pacific Ocean. Inside, they are exceptionally spacious and naturally ventilated due to their design. They are equipped with a safe, ceiling fan, mosquito net, desk with sea views. They also have a spacious veranda from which you can enjoy a wonderful view of the sea, the sunsets and sea creatures swimming by. While the terrace of the superior bungalows has a hammock, the interior of the deluxe bungalows offers a cozy seating area within reach of the minibar. A large veranda also offers a comfortable daybed. A private bathroom integrated into each bungalow is equipped with a hot (and cold) water shower.
New from this 2025/26 season are two additional luxuriously furnished bungalows, giving the resort a total of 4 Premium Deluxe Bungalows, each of which offer 98 m² of extremely spacious living space. They have the same features as the Superior and Deluxe Bungalows, but are also equipped with a double sink and separate bathtub and have air conditioning.
At Papua Paradise Eco Resort, electricity is available 24 hours a day. There is no mobile phone reception on the island, Wi-Fi is free for guests and a satellite phone is available for a fee. The resort also has a luxury spa (under renovation at the moment), unique in Raja Ampat, underlining the exceptional level of service and comfort offered.

Restaurant:
The 'Overwater' restaurant, also built in traditional style, allows you to dine with a view of the sunset. Indonesian and international dishes are served here three times a day on a rich buffet. The resort management emphasises the high quality of the food. The products on offer are locally grown and come from the surrounding villages or the resort's own fruit and vegetable garden. Homemade specialities such as bread, cakes, yoghurt and pasta round off the offer.
The Sunset Bar offers soft drinks, local beer, cocktails and wine.
Diving:
Papua Paradise Eco Resort is home to Gangga Divers, a 5-star PADI dive centre run by professional international instructors. It operates to the highest safety and PADI standards, with an emphasis on personalised service. The dive centre also has an air-conditioned camera room and a library with marine and fish books. The 10 dive boats of various sizes are equipped with oxygen, first aid kits and everything divers need.
Well-trained guides take divers on two boat dives in the morning and one boat dive in the afternoon. Abends ist ein weiterer Tauchgang möglich. Guests dive in a small group of maximum 4 divers per guide. PADI diving courses for beginners and advanced divers can be booked in advance.
Raja Ampat is considered one of the most biodiverse regions in the world. At least 75% of all existing coral species are found here. Over 1,300 species of fish and 540 species of coral make for a great underwater biodiversity to behold! Thousands of schools of fish, colourful coral reef slopes, seahorse species, manta rays, wobbegongs, bamboo and reef sharks await visitors. And the best thing is: the unique archipelago with its pristine reefs can be dived at any time of the year.
